Client: Workspace Group
Location: Chiswick, London, W4
Size: 12,000 sqft rooftop extension
Value: £4,500,000
Contractor: Collins Construction

The fourth stage of development at The Light Box is now complete –  a rooftop extension providing an additional 10,000 sqft of office space. The works also included refurbishment of all common areas including toilets and corridors. Working in collaboration with Bluebottle, the reception, atrium and cafe have undergone a complete refurbishment.

The designs draw on the building’s history as a Bush radio factory with an industrial feel and raw materials. The building’s saw-tooth roof, with northlights, is retained expressing its past and providing light into the office units.

The new floor is a contemporary box located on the existing flat roof area. Full height glazing provides naturally ventilated bright spaces with heating and cooling via cassette units. Timber floors and exposed services complete the industrial fit-out.

A new glazed entrance provides a modern visual landmark, the geometry responding to your approach from Power Road. Metal framed illuminated signage will be added later this year, enhancing the visual spectacle.
